The INSPIRE is an innovative programs for class X passed students
sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India,
in order to strengthen the National Science and Technology base. The
aim of INSPIRE is to inculcate scientific temperament in the young
minds of our country and build the required critical human resource
pool for strengthening and expanding science and technology system in
R&D base.
The INSPIRE program for the students of Tamil Nadu is organized by
Bharathidasan University. It will be a free summer camp of Internship
Program for students of Tamil Nadu during May 16 – 20, 2011. In this
program, the toppers and meritorious students of Class X Board
Examinations and who are presently pursuing science in XI or XII
standards will be given an exposure to intensified, stimulating and
brainstorming interaction with highly esteemed scholars and mentors
through lectures, discussions, lab experiments and lab visits. A maximum
of 200 students will be admitted to this program. The selected candidates
will be provided free registration, local
hospitality and travel (limited to 2 tier sleeper fare).
Eligibility: Top 1% of students who cleared the X Board Examinations with
90% in the aggregate marks (93% for CBSE and 92% for ICSE) and pursuing
course in Science in the XI or XII standards are eligible for selection to this
program. The applications will be subjected to selection.
How to apply: Prescribed duly filled-in application form, signed by the
Principal/ Head Master of the School where the candidate is now studying may
either be submitted at the postal address given below or be personally
submitted to the Co-ordinator, INSPIRE Science Camp, Bharathidasan University.
Advance copy of the form & mark sheet of X Class can also be sent by Fax or Email.
Last date for the receipt of duly completed form: April 29, 2011.
