Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2012:

The Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is a common qualifying test for admissions to Ph.D. programmes in Physics at premier Indian research institutions (see Participating Institutes) and a Ph.D. programme in Theoretical Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
Using JEST results, each institute will call a limited number of candidates for its own selection procedure depending, on its requirements.
All selected candidates will receive Research Fellowships from the respective institutes.
The JEST exam is used to shortlist candidates and does not automatically entitle an applicant to get a Research Fellowship.
Applicants must have a valid e-mail ID, which is used for log in to the website to submit online Application form. Please create a valid e-mail ID This ID should be kept active at least during the period from submission of JEST2012 application form, right up to the declaration of JEST2012 results.
Important change for JEST-2012: Application Fee of Rs. 100 (and Rs. 50 for SC/ST) is payable.
