Indian National Science Academy -INSA
The INSA was established in January 1935 with the objective of promoting science in India.
In the valedictory session of Leadership Development in Science and Technology (LEADS April-2024) Programme jointly organised by Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi & National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Profesor Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India & Chief Guest of today's session graced the occasion with his words of wisdom. Prof. Karandikar focuses on the inclusivity, teamwork, sustainable leadership strategies, nation building, startup ecosystem in India and many other points of utmost importance. ![]()

He also talked about strategies for effective academic leadership, managing diverse student & faculty proportions, difference between equity & equality, gender Inclusivity, women in science, conflict resolution, mentorship, case studies of successful academic leaders, data driven decision making in academic leadership.![]()

Dr. Madhu Dixit, Former Director CSIR-CDRI, delivered her talk on the topic of 'Navigating Ethical Dilemmas in Scientific Research: The Role of Integrity in Leadership' during the LEADS (April-2024) Programme on 6 April 2024 at INSA New Delhi. ![]()

She talked about key components of the scientific methodologies, data collection, statistical tools, data analysis & data interpretation too. She discussed the peer-review process, reproducibility of scientific data, principles of ethics, healthcare infrastructure, The Stanford Prison Experiment, nuances of ethical decision-making in research contexts. Dr. Dixit highlighted many other relevant points too like research misconduct, Health Research Extension Act made in 1985 by US, steps in research misconduct proceedings, ORI oversight, global health & justice and Dual Use Research concept.![]()
