The Institute of Mathematical Sciences

We announce the first of a series of Summer Schools in Theoretical Physics at IMSc for MSc students of Colleges in and around Chennai. The aim is to try to enhance the level of the basic understanding of Theoretical Physics by college students. 
 
The topic for this school is Quantum Mechanics. Topics include Schroedinger equation, principles of quantum mechanics, time-independent and time-dependent perturbation theory, quantum theoryof radiation, and relativistic quantum mechanics.
Duration of the School
The School will be held from 2-14 June, 2014, on all days except Sunday. Students are expected to attend all the sessions, in order to gain maximum benefit from the lectures. (Sunday, 8th June, is a holiday).
Lectures will begin at 9:30 AM and go on all day. Tea/coffee and lunch will be provided by IMSc to all the participants.
Who can apply
Students from Chennai Colleges and Institutions, who have completed one year of MSc by this summer, may apply via the

on or before 25th April, 2014. Please ensure that ONE referee letter reaches us on or before 30th April, 2014.
Selected candidates will be informed by May 7th, 2014.
