Objectives of the conference:
The Ist International Conference on Physics of Materials and Materials based Device Fabrication aims to bring together scientists, technologists and researchers to exchange their views and ideas for a better understanding and international cooperation in the subject. Physics of Materials and Materials based Device Fabrication as a special theme deals with the application of a variety of tools and techniques. It is a subject area that focuses on physics of materials, batteries, electrochemical cells/reactors, semiconductors. Device fabrication technology is also used in society development, energy generation and research into new materials and methodologies for chemical processing. In this conference the experimental and theoretical studies of novel and advanced materials and process mechanisms will be highlighted, together with the application of these materials in surface protection and modification, application in batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors, actuators, photo-electrochemical cells and sensors, microelectronics and biotechnology.

Call for participation
Scientists, technologists and researchers are invited to present their work in the form posters and there shall be awards for three best posters.
Preparation of abstracts
One page abstract for conference must be written in English. The name and affiliation of the corresponding and presenting author must be underlined. The poster size should not exceed 100 × 75 cm2 area. Abstracts may be confined to A4 size paper having a maximum of 300 words with Times New Roman 12 font, 1.5 line spacing. Selected peer reviewed articles of the presented work will be considered for publication in a scientific journal. Abstracts should be sent on conference email address.
Official Language of the conference
The official language of the conference will be English; no simultaneous translation or interpretation in other languages shall be available.
Registration form
Online submission of abstracts and registration will be available on www.unishivaji.ac.in/icpmmdf2012.htm. Registration form and demand draft should be sent by post.
Registration fee includes local transportation, conference materials, lunch and special dinners, coffee/tea/snacks (during the conference), cultural program.
PAYMENT DETAILS
The registration fee in the form of Demand drafts or at par cheque should be payable to ‘The Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur’. Kindly indicate your name and (ICPM-MDF-2012) at back of the bank demand draft. Registration will only be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

Participants requiring accommodation may forward their request to the Convener latest by 15th November, 2011. The charges for accommodation depending on the services may vary from approximately Rs. 500/- to 5000/- per day. For students, accommodation will be made in Hostel/Guest house with reasonable charges.
The City of Kolhapur:
This historic city is situated about 2000 feet above the sea level. The city is easily accessible via air, road and railways. From Mumbai and Pune direct trains and buses are available. Direct trains are available to Miraj (50km from Kolhapur) from New Delhi, Goa, Mysore, and Tirupati. The city has a pleasant climate (15-25oC) in the month of January. There are several attractive tourists spots in and around Kolhapur. Kolhapur is known as a place of pilgrimage and is called as “Dakshin Kashi” and Kolhapur “Kalanagari” is famous for its Mahalaxmi temple, fine arts and film industry. Ancient temples, historic fort, wild life sanctuaries, Rankala lake are a few among other attractions.
