Applications are invited upto 5.30 p.m. on 21.03.2012 for Direct Recruitment to the vacancies for Lecturer [Engineering / Non-Engineering] For Govt. Polytechnic Colleges.

QUALIFICATIONS:
(A) AGE: (as on 01.07.2012)
Candidates should not have completed 57 years of age as on 01.07.2012 both for
Engineering and Non-Engineering Subjects.
(B) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
(i) Lecturer in Engineering Subjects: Candidates should possess the following
qualifications on the date of Notification viz., 27.02.2012
A First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the Branch of Engineering relating to the Post
Concerned.
(ii) Lecturer in Non-Engineering Subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry):
A First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate Branch of Study.
(C) EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATION:
If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by him / her is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, he / she has to produce the letter of equivalence issued by the competent authority of the University which has awarded the degree. However, the claim would be subject to the decision of the Equivalence Committee constituted as per G.O.Ms. No.441, P&AR(R), Department, Dated
20.12.1993 and the decision of the Government. The candidate should have obtained the equivalence certificate on or before the last date for submission of the application form. The same should be produced at the time of Certificate
Verification without fail; otherwise, the selection will be summarily rejected.
APPLICATION FORM AND EXAMINATION FEE:
The Application Form (OMR Format) along with Prospectus can be obtained (from 09.03.2012 to 21.03.2012) in person from the Office of Directorate of Technical Education [DOTE] Chennai – 600 025 / Principals of Government & Government-Aided Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges on payment of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fifty Only) in cash towards the cost of the Application Form and Prospectus.
The candidates are requested to pay the examination fees Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST and Physically Challenged) and the Bank Charges Rs.50/- in any Branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA using only the prescribed challan attached with the prospectus. Payment of examination fees in any other method will not be accepted. The prescribed challan contains certain details about the fees, bank charges, application number and account number for the specific recruitment. Candidates have to write the Name of the Branch and its code number,
where the candidate makes the payment and other details in the relevant columns. The Bank’s Copy of the challan will be retained at the Bank and Teachers Recruitment Board’s copy and Candidate’s Copy will be handed over to the candidate after receiving the payment and making necessary entries.
Candidates have to attach the Teachers Recruitment Board’s copy of the challan with the Application Form and keep the Candidate’s Copy with him/her. The Teachers Recruitment Board’s copy of the challan should not be pasted / stapled / tied. It has to be kept in a separate envelope and submitted along with the Application Form without fail.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS:
The application forms should be carefully filled up. Details of payment of fees like Amount Paid, Bank Journal Number, Branch Code and Date of Payment should be entered in the relevant column in the Application Form without fail. The passport size photograph should be pasted in the space provided and should not be stapled. The Photograph should not be attested and it should be free from any mark, as the same has to be used for printing the Hall Tickets. The application form should not be folded. The Application Form ONLY should be
submitted in the envelope issued along with the application form.
Original or Attested Copies of Certificates need not be sent with the Application Form. All the Certificates will be verified at the time of Certificate Verification only.
The candidates should submit the filled in application forms in person to the Office of the Directorate of Technical Education [DOTE], Chennai – 600 025 / Principals of Government & Government-Aided Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges, from where they obtained the application on or before 21.03.2012 (Wednesday) at 5.30 P.M. and obtain acknowledgement on the photocopy of the filled and signed application form.
Teacher Recruitment Board will not accept Filled-in Application Forms either in person or by post.
