Recent advances in materials science

 Materials science, also commonly known as materials engineering, is an interdisciplinary field, applying the properties of matter to various areas of science and engineering. This relatively new scientific field investigates the relationship between the structure of materials at atomic or molecular scales and their macroscopic properties. It incorporates elements of applied physics and chemistry. With significant media attention focused on Nano science and nanotechnology in recent years, materials science is becoming more widely known as a specific field of science and engineering.

The seminar, RAMS-2014, is being organized by the Crystal Growth and Thin Film Laboratory, School of Physics, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli covers the important topics of materials science such as advances in Crystal growth, Thin Films and Nanomaterials etc., to the benefit of the students of Materials Science. Eminent speakers from reputed institutions are being invited as resource persons for this Seminar. The Research scholars and PG students of Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and nanotechnology are encouraged to utilize this opportunity.

Registration

Registration is mandatory to participate in the seminar. In order to register, participants are requested to pay the registration fee in the form DD, in favor of ‘RAMS-2014’ payable at Tiruchirappalli.

Registration Fee Details:

For Students/Research Scholars: Rs. 250/-
For Faculty/Industrial Person: Rs. 500/-

The DD Should be addressed to ‘Dr. R. Ramesh Babu, Assistant Professor, School of Physics, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli – 620024’
The registration fee includes seminar materials, lunch, refreshments during the seminar period.
Since the number of participants is limited, all the participants are requested to register well in advance.
On-Spot payment of registration fee will be accepted on some special cases with valid reason. But such exception will be entertained only for the candidates who have registered online in advance and having the registration number.
