Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics

DAE, Govt. of India.

 ·  Students are invited to join the Ph D programme of the Institute in Physics and Biophysical Sciences starting from 2016-17 Session.
·  The programme starts with an pre-Ph D course work of one year duration, popularly known as Post M.Sc. programme.
·  For Physics stream, the Post M.Sc. programme is divided into two streams: Theoretical Physics and Experimental Physics.  No SINP written entrance test will be conducted for Physics streams.  Please look at the selection procedure below for more details.

·  Eligibility

Physics:
Masters’ degree in Physics.

Biophysical Sciences: Masters’ degree in Physics / Chemistry (with Life Science at 10+2 level) or Masters’ degrees in Life Sciences (with Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level).

Students appearing in the final examinations for their Masters’ degrees during the current academic session may also apply. However, their admission will be made provisional till they successfully pass their Masters’ degrees in compliance with the cut-off requirement for SINP screening procedure (to be announced later).

· Application procedure

The eligible students can apply through on-line application only (available from early March 2016).
Details will be announced soon in this web page.

·  Selection procedure

A first screening will be done based on previous academic records of the applicants.
