National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is a premier institution
engaged in research in the frontier areas of Neuroscience to
understand the function of healthy and diseased brain. With the goal
to provide seamless transition from classroom training to high-quality
research in challenging areas of Neuroscience, NBRC offers Ph.D. and I
ntegrated Ph.D. programmes in Neuroscience for exceptionally meritorious
and motivated students. Admissions for the year 2011 will be through a
written test followed by a 2-tier interview. In this regard, NBRC
invites applications for its Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. programmes.
The research areas in NBRC are broadly divided into :

In addition to basic aspect, research projects focus on translational and
clinical neuroscience also.

Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE)^*

Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as
Life Science / Physics/ Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer application / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science/ Psychology
OR
A minimum of four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology / Medicine.

INTEGRATED Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE)^{*, #}

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as
Life Science / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology / Engineering / Technology / Medicine.

^*Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
^# On successful completion of the Integrated Ph.D. programme the students
will be awarded both an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. Degree.

Online application process begins	19^th January, 2011
Last date to submit on-line applications	15^th February, 2011
Last date to receive State Bank of India demand draft along with registration slip (Candidates sending a mount by NEFT mode should send their UTR number by e-mail to admissions2011@nbrc.ac.in)	18^th February, 2011
Tentative date for downloading the admit cards (only those candidates whose payment of application fee is received by NBRC will be able to download the admit cards)	25^th February,2011 onwards
Written test will be held on	13^th March, 2011
List of candidates shortlisted to be called for the interview	Will be notified on our website
